Sleep in a tent is always a challenge, so a mandatory equipment between the practitioners of outdoor activities is the sleeping bag. A person asleep produces only 25% of the energy it would produce during the day, so we need to have a means of increasing our heat and keep the body warm for a peaceful sleep.
How to Choose
As a “rule of thumb” the choice should be conditioned to the sites that will be used.
One thing is important: there is a sleeping bag that will serve for all possible situations.
There are sleeping bags which are ideal to a user profile that will use it in an environment with the given amplitude to minimum temperature (varying according to the season).
Important to note that if someone is using a “Duvet”, blanket and similar in outdoor environments which are situations required a sleeping bag, as well as put your life at risk will be paying a ridiculous situation.
The choice of sleeping bag is conditioning factors: format, liner and comfort temperature.
There are models that are suitable for temperatures up to -50° C and 5° C.
The choice should be made reflecting on how willing you are to agree with thermal discomfort away from civilization.
On the market there are three types of formats commercialised: sarcophagus (also known as cocoon), rectangular (similar to a commercial envelope) and hybrid (also popularly called mixed)
The format sarcophagus is widely sold and marketed with your use recommended for colder locations.
By your drawing like a cocoon (or sarcophagus) hinders the heat exchange with the outside environment.
For people restless during sleep may not be as comfortable.
The rectangular shape is indicated for warmer environments and allows for greater mobility. For who is restless during sleep, feel more comfort while sleeping.
The hybrid format is an attempt to make the rectangular format more
It’s not a format sold widely, since merging the format has two previous but can’t extend the best of its properties.
