Bento Gonçalves offers harmonised lunch and dinner options with high quality wines, and several tours in the midst of the beauty of the European colonization region
Beautiful landscapes, differentiated tours, wines and gastronomy in harmony. The Serra Gaucho is the right destination for those who know how to combine travel to the pleasures of the good table. Called “Brazilian Capital of Grape and Wine”, Bento Gonçalves was a pioneer in the development of wine tourism in Brazil and today combines tradition and modernity in hotels, restaurants and wineries.
The valley of the vineyards is the main destination Enoturístico of Brazil and the only region that possesses the stamps of indication of origin and designation of origins, with high quality wines. The region counts with nothing less than 79 wineries. In them it is possible to make visits, tastings, to participate in harmonized lunches or dinners with wine and special menus with cool flasks.
From small properties to large groups, each winery in the region offers a different way of knowing a little more about this rich world of wine. Restaurants and hotels also usually perform harmonized meals with menu options ranging from traditional to contemporary.
The Serra Gaucho is known for the full table, with tasty meals accompanied by wines, invariably valuing the family tradition. Whether in the colonial Italian gastronomy, which has passed from generation to generation, whether in contemporary cuisine and in gourmet bistros, with menus of renowned chefs, satisfaction is guaranteed.
Among the gastronomic options, there is for all tastes. Famous soups made with pasta-like Capeletti-, polenta, cheeses of various flavors and colours-like Morbier-, fondue, traditional galeto, wild boar salami, German Cuca, sago, biscuits-like vanilla-, panna cotta and hot chocolate, just to quote some of the local cuisine. The restaurant Maria Valduga, Casa Valduga, and Valle Rustic restaurant are good examples of the local cuisine union with quality wines.
Walking or bike rides
The valleys and landscapes filled with vines are some of the charms of the region that can be explored in hiking trails or biking. In the paths, the visitor encounters the brands of European immigration, especially Italian, today rooted in the residents, with examples such as the construction of chapels, devotion to the Saints, the Venetto dialect, and mainly the cultivation of the vine and the production of wine.
From bike, it is possible to know Bento and region, with the tours of the main tourist routes organised, for example, by the Dall’Onder cycling, the Dall’Onder Grande Hotel. That’s five different routes, all with options of greater or lesser difficulty, duration and Journey: Stone Paths (Cultural pedaling), Road of Flavor (pedaled Colonial), River Das Antas (Ecological pedaling), windy heel (pedaled refreshing) and Vineyard Valley (pedaled Enoturística).
Another attraction is the visit to the sheep’s house park, which is part of the tourist paths of stone. There the visitor has the opportunity to meet farm, dairy and a park of experience, with typical experiences of a sheep breeding. It is a tourist spot in Bento Gonçalves that follows three main concepts: the flavor, health and tradition. It is possible to watch the breastfeeding of puppies, herding sheep with Border Collie dogs, falconry (displaying the trained hawks) and buy products derived from sheep’s milk, such as high-quality cheeses and a differentiated cosmetics line.
Among the highlights of the Vineyard valley for those who want to live a differentiated experience is the wine Spa, located in the Wine Spa Hotel & condominium in viticulture. There, amidst beautiful landscapes and many attractions, there are vinoterápicos treatments open to guests and not guests.
