Nine Myths And Truths About Cycling

You Who Are Thinking Of Pedaling But Are In Doubt, We Will Unravel The Myths, The Secrets Of The Skinny For You. Check It!

After I joined the bikers’ planet, I came to see two distinct communities. One is the cyclists who have been pedaling for a long time and know all the information about the bicycle. The other community is the newcomers or those who pedal no more than five times a year. In the group of novices and less assiduous there is much ignorance regarding equipment, exercises, types of bicycles, among other items. This ignorance ends up creating a series of myths that hinder the life of those starting or resuming the pedal and discourage those who are still thinking about whether or not to enter this planet.

Therefore, I will try to demystify some of the main myths about bike equipment like cycling water bottles.

Myth: Low Price+Good Bike
Truth: There is no good bike and cheap. The good bikes, besides the frame, have in their composition high technology components that aim for the best performance, safety and comfort of the user. Remember that the cost of ownership of a bicycle is very low.The initial investment may seem high, but you will use this asset for many years. On a very basic account, divide the price of the bike for at least five years. If you are not fond of bikes, chances are you will change it after five years or more.

Myth: Cheaper bike is better for beginners Truth: It is a big mistake to think about buying a cheap bike because it is starting in the sport. Who is starting in general does not have the specific physical training to pedal and is unaware of the techniques. So at least one item has to be good for you to enjoy the pedal: the bicycle. This is to compensate for the momentary lack of performance. Your preparation will come with time and practice. The bad bike, can not improve, will always be bad. Your lack of knowledge and physical unpreparedness, linked to a bad bike, will make it difficult to assess your performance and the level of your pedaling. Consequently, you will not know if the lack of income is due to unprepared or for the account of the bicycle. The biggest cause of withdrawal of the beginners is related to inadequate equipment.

Myth: Any Bicycle Serves
Truth: There are several types of bicycle, one for each type of pedal. There are mountain bikes, mountain bikes; Of race or road, called speed; Of walking; Cycling and urban tourism. Besides the type, the bikes have size. Do not give in to adaptations. Many shopkeepers sell the wrong size and say that with a small adjustment the bike will look good. Is not true. Countless people use very small or very large bicycles, totally incompatible with their stature. Call the manufacturer or distributor directly and inform yourself. Only then go to the store with the information of the size that suits your height.

Myth: It Is Difficult To Transport The Bicycle.
Truth: With a little goodwill and knowledge, things get easier. Various types of support are currently available in specialist shops to transport the bike in comfort and safety.Carrying the bicycle inside the car is easy and possible, just know how to remove the wheels and the correct way to put the frame inside the trunk. There is still the internal part of the car, in the gap between the front and rear seats-in this case I recommend using the canvas bike suitcase.

Myth: Pedaling Is Uncomfortable
Truth: Pedaling can only hurt a little in the first few times, especially the ischium, located in the lower part of the pelvis (hip). However, pedaling does not hurt nor is it uncomfortable. If you feel pain or discomfort, there are several items to watch, such as bike size, bike fit to your body, inappropriate clothing, skeletal or muscle problems, among others.

Myth: Sports Practice And Championships Are For Athletes
Truth: Many people use the bicycle only for the laser, walks along the beach, parks or cycle paths on weekends. They imagine that the practice of cycling or mountain biking is only for athletes. People can and should use the bike in sports, which is a lot of fun. Gives a new purpose to the use of the bike. It is an excellent resource in the process of weight reduction and physical fitness. Cycling is a sport that facilitates the development of bonds of friendship, especially in mountain biking, whose group of participants is more likely to talk and interact while riding the trails. The large contingent mass of a competition is made up of amateurs and some beginners. Participation for a competition requires minimal preparation, so it will give you the goal and motivation to practice the sport frequently.

Myth: Mountain Biking Is A Risk Sport That Requires Too Much Of The Practitioners
Truth:
The term mountain biking was created to define the mode of cycling in which the goal is to cross paths with various irregularities and obstacles. In some countries, such as Portugal, mountain biking is called a mountain biking bike, because this type of cycling is practiced on dirt roads, farm tracks, mountain trails, in parks and even in the city. Despite having as basic concept the transposition of obstacles, there are several levels of practice of mountain biking. There are many walks that are made by tracks and dirt roads, wide, without holes, with little or almost no slope or slope and short distance. So rest assured, mountain biking may not be radical, but rather great fun for anyone who wants to be in direct contact with nature.

Myth: I Am Overweight To Pedal And Need To Lose Weight Before
Truth: This is a frequent talk of women. One of the great benefits of pedaling is weight loss. For those who need to lose weight, using the bike is a practical, fun and enjoyable method, as well as providing efficient and healthy weight loss.

Myth: I’m Old Enough To Start Cycling
Truth: Cycling is a democratic and comprehensive sports practice. Anyone can pedal because it has no impact on the joints, and the person establishes his own rhythm according to his physical conditions and objectives of the exercise itself. Medical recommendations against practice are rare.
